Power of Regional & Seasonal Foods for Micronutrient-Rich Living

Welcome to HEALM Wellness Blog, where we celebrate the wisdom of eating fresh, local, and seasonal foods—just as nature intended! Food should always be regional and seasonal. Every bite of locally sourced, seasonal produce is a powerhouse of micronutrients, tailored to nourish your body in harmony with the environment. From the iron-rich leafy greens of winter to the cooling hydrating fruits of summer, nature provides exactly what we need, when we need it.

As individuals born in a place their body adaptation to the respective habitat is linked. They are acclimatized to the environment and food culture of the locality for the best survival. Following the western food leads to various micronutrient deficiency and chronic disorders. Disorders for instance obesity, diabetes, cardiac disease, hyperlipidemia, Renal disorders, fatty liver disease are very common nowadays. Out of 10 every 6 people are facing issues related to their health.

What is Health?

  1. According to WHO health is a complete state of physical, mental and social well being, not merely just absence of disease. It entails preserving healthy biological processes, emotional fortitude, and constructive social relationships.
  2. Lifestyle decisions, genetics, the environment, and access to medical treatment all have an impact on health. It is more than just the lack of disease; it is also the proactive pursuit of wellbeing and the ability to adjust to new situations.

Mental health has a direct relationship with the gut. As people are moving towards western culture, preferring their food choices that ultimately impact their body function. Due to workload in corporate people jag on fast food that triggers the stomach lining and impair digestion.

Unveiling the Micronutrient Tapestry of Regional Cuisines:

Micronutrients are the trace elements that are essential for the growth and development of living organisms. It includes vitamins and minerals. However, they have a significant effect on an individual’s well-being, and deficiencies in any one of them can result in serious and even fatal illnesses. They enable the body to create hormones, enzymes, and other compounds necessary for normal growth and development, among other things. Worldwide, iron, vitamin A, and iodine deficiencies are among the most prevalent, especially in pregnant women and children. What I feel is by consuming a varied diet and receiving an understanding of nutrition, as well as by fortifying and supplementing foods as necessary, many of these deficiencies can be avoided.

Accepting the cultural and regional food enhances the nutrient dense food intake followed by the good micronutrient consumptions.

This blog is based on food that we are eating should be regional and seasonal. As they are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and bioactive compounds that have medicinal benefits also.

I will help you with #eatregionalandseasonal
